PS Insider
Extraordinary Times, Extraordinary Solutions,
Extraordinary People,
Extraordinary Clients
2009 is here!  The economic picture is not pretty, but we at PS believe that even in times of economic decline, companies can not only survive, but thrive.

PS saw it coming . . . and did something about it!

We brought years of experience and expertise to the task
and developed cutting-edge and cost-saving solutions to
help you make gains beyond the ordinary. "Business as Usual" simply will not work in these challenging times.

With that thought in mind, we spent more than 1,000 man-hours to forge a strategy with just the right tactics:  retooled processes, motivated people, and client-focused innovation, all to ensure your mailing programs will make headway even in turbulent times.

Serving Extraordinary Clients...
The right people deliver customized, stress-free direct mail production service.

Continuity, careful expansion of services, and putting the
right people on task is the order of the day as PS launches
our twentieth year of service to our valued clients. Five additional industry pros have joined our team of time-tested professional associates. Staff continuity brings experience, experience brings added confidence and competence, and confidence and competence are delivered to you. That brings you peace of mind in 2009!

Newly Promoted Production Directors!

You will benefit in 2009 and beyond from our management philosophy, which will keep PS staff engaged, encouraged, and focused, with their energies channeled to dovetail with your needs.  We are pleased to announce the promotion and addition of Rebecca Shapalis, Janet Alicea, Patricia McNeal, Drew Wilson, and Andrea Bentley to our management team of Production Directors.

Client-focused and capable, our new Client Services Directors roll out added services to our clients!

Our newly deployed client service team is the "internal voice" for our clients to guide our current and future client satisfaction offerings and strategies based on your needs and expectations. PS is pleased to announce the full launch of our Client Services Department, and the promotion of Mandy Centracchio, Marie Kosanovich, and Patrick McVean.

Putting the PRO in Product Development
.

Status quo won't cut it!  We are geared up to infuse new ideas with lasting returns into your direct mail programs and provide mission-critical industry direction and navigation in the months ahead.  A new Product Development Department now provides even more resources and expertise to support our clients' fundraising goals and objectives.  We are pleased to have it directed by Cheryl Keedy, an acknowledged industry expert with more than 14 of years experience with our firm.

Expert Business Development Associates committed to your growth and success!

Unlike the many businesses that look at the current economic situation and decide to downsize or "freeze" their growth goals and strategies for 2009, Production Solutions is boldly committed to helping you seize opportunities, grow your business, and "stay the course." Our Business Development Team - headed by George Lizama and Scott Chapman - works together with our Client Services and Product Development Departments to work harder and smarter for our clients both old and new.

Inspired leadership and operational expertise harness resources and bring success.

This positive and powerful energy is spearheaded and directed by 11-year veteran Benjamin Harris, newly promoted to Vice President of Operations.  Ben now leads our 35+ production managers and our senior team of Client Services, Sustainability, Postal, and Package Innovation experts, all focused on operational excellence.

With a team like this in place, our clients will receive sweat equity without having to sweat! You'll have peace of mind in 2009!
2008
Philanthropy Award
For those who hadn't heard, George Lizama is the recipient of the 2008 Philanthropy Award for CEO Leadership: Medium Company, presented by the Washington Business Journal in partnership with Greater DC Cares. George inspires us every day, and we're honored to work side by side with him here at PS. (full article)

Important Postal
Update

New Flats Addressing Standards starting March 29

As many of our clients
begin their calendar and catalog design and production planning, we want to point out an important change to USPS flats addressing standards.  These changes take effect March 29, 2009.

·  Address type size can be
no smaller than 6pt all caps when a POSTNET or Intelligent Mail Barcode is used and no smaller then 8pt without the POSTNET or IMB.

·  Address must be in the top half of the mailpiece, but may be perpendicular to the top edge. Addressing may not be upside down.

It's really as simple as that. Please click here to see the USPS fact sheet, with diagrams and definitions of the "top half" of the mailpiece.  And please don't hesitate to call your Production Solutions contact with any questions.
