Postage Rate Changes: What You Need to Know

Significant changes are on the horizon for postal rates. Postage rates are projected to change July 12, 2026. Here is what you need to know to understand these adjustments and how to strategize effectively and minimize the impact of your budget. Here are the details:

July 2026 Postage Increase

The Postal Service has filed for Market Dominant Changes with the Postal Regulatory Commission, slated to take effect on July 12, 2026. Note that these rates are deemed proposed until finalized on May 28, 2026.

Here are the key highlights:

  • Single-Piece Forever Stamps will increase 5.1%, from $0.78 to $0.82 cents.
  • First Class Presorted Automation Letter Average Rates will go up an average of 5%, from $0.635 to $0.667 cents per piece.
  • First Class Presorted Automation Flat Rates (not over 1 oz) will increase an average of 2.8%, from $1.26 to $1.29 per piece
  • Nonprofit Marketing Mail Auto Letter Rate Average (DSCF and Ogrin Blend) are going up on average of 5.1%, from $0.197 to $0.207 cents per piece.
  • Nonprofit Marketing Mail Auto Letter DSCF 5D Rates are going up on average of 1.9%, from $0.161 to $0.164 cents per piece.
  • Nonprofit Marketing Mail Auto Flat Average (4 oz or less, DSCF and Origin Blend) are going DOWN by 1.7%, from $0.702 to $0.690 cents per piece.
  • Nonprofit Marketing Mail Auto Flat DSCF 5D Rate (4 oz or less) are going up an average of 2.2%, from $0.465 or $0.475 cents per piece.

 

Additionally, the USPS is officially removing all ADC and AADC sortation categories from Market Dominant Products.
