As we navigate the ever-changing landscape of leadership in an era of increasing complexity, it’s only natural to wonder how we measure our progress. The challenges we face may often seem like a game of “one step forward, two steps back,” but it is precisely in these moments that we have the opportunity to rise above and shine.
Throughout my tenure as President at Production Solutions, we have relied on structure, clear goals, and key performance indicators to steer our ship. These tools have served us well, enabling us to anticipate and shape our company’s path toward effectiveness. However, as the future unfolds with even greater dynamism, our tried-and-true methods of planning and metrics may no longer be as straightforward.
Amidst this ambiguity, there is one unwavering truth that remains: our need for a clear and common purpose.
My purpose is to seek out and embrace uncertainty and lead others to do the same.
In our hyper-tech-fueled world, purpose is the bedrock upon which we build our resilience and adaptability to change. It’s not something I am accustomed to yet; however, starting with that awareness and intention is a huge first step. It is through being open to the unknown that we discover our true potential, and it is through leading others to do the same that we leave an indelible mark on the world.
