What is innovation? A product of change. Most humans are change averse and prefer consistency. But it is important to remember that innovation does not require reinventing the wheel. A simpler approach is taking something that is already working and improving or expanding upon it. For example, with the iPhone, Apple turned the computer into a cell phone.

Innovation is not only important but necessary in the Information Technology sector. New products and services are constantly being developed due to ever-changing technological advancements. To stay competitive and relevant in our industry, adapting to the needs of our partners is vital for the success and prosperity of business. Today’s technology will not keep us going into the future.

Staying current with the latest changes in IT, and implementing them into a business, can be complicated and overwhelming. It is key to innovate in a way that is not disruptive but provides value and reassurance that the changes are warranted.

My hope is to build upon existing technological processes and introduce small changes, allowing all departments to be more agile, efficient and productive in 2023. The PS IT Team has several initiatives underway to improve how we exchange information and data with our partners.

I can’t wait to share with you the innovative technologies the PS IT team has planned this year. Until then, I challenge you to ask yourself, how do you plan to be more innovative this year?
