USPS Holds Postage Rates Steady Through January 2026

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has announced that there will be no stamp price increases in January 2026 for Market Dominant products, including First-Class Mail. The price of a stamp to mail a 1-ounce single-piece First-Class letter will not increase in early 2026. This decision, recommended by Postmaster General David Steiner and approved by the USPS Board of Governors on September 24, reflects the organization’s ongoing efforts to balance financial sustainability with public service.

The announcement aligns with USPS’s 10-year strategic plan, Delivering for America, which focuses on cost control, operational efficiency, and long-term modernization. Steiner emphasized the importance of a thoughtful pricing strategy that meets revenue needs without burdening consumers. The next potential price adjustment is expected in mid-2026.
