Dear Industry Colleagues, Partners and Friends,
I’m compelled today to reach out to you all to share a personal message about the ongoing challenge of resource scarcity which we are all facing in our work and our lives. This flood of bad news can understandably be draining to the human spirit.
Every facet of direct response mail production is impacted by the ongoing economic, social and political effects of this pandemic. Postage costs are fluctuating and deliverability windows will likely shift as well. The labor market and transportation markets are tumultuous. The paper market has tightened to a degree which can feel suffocating. Ultimately, all of this represents a real impact to your timelines and budget. Resource scarcity makes all of our jobs incredibly difficult. However, what isn’t scarce is how we choose to show up each day – with realistic optimism, a big picture perspective and caring candor.
The stakes are incredibly high, reaching your donors is more critical now than ever. The missions of the nonprofit community which we serve are too important for us to not show up and do everything we can, together, to come through this tumultuous time.
Resource scarcity changes the way we do our work. It changes the decisions we have to make each day, the frequency of our communications, and adds a layer of stress and fear that makes our work that much more difficult. But, it doesn’t change the fact that what we do is quite literally making a difference in the lives of real people. Reaching donors makes achieving the missions of the nonprofit community possible, and we are here to make that process of communicating with those donors possible even in what feels like impossible circumstances.
It’s during extraordinary times like these that you are in the best hands possible with Production Solutions. Although we aren’t able to make every single pain point disappear, your program and your team are vastly better positioned for partnering with us. This is why you work with us, this is when our value is more important than ever.
We remain committed to our fundamentals of planning in advance, focusing on the details, problem solving creatively, overcommunicating, going the extra mile, working tirelessly and granting grace to everyone in our orbit. Together, we will get to the other side of these times of resource scarcity.
We are eternally grateful to be your partner in good times and in challenging times. Thank you for your ongoing trust and commitment.
President, Production Solutions
