The unsung heroes who turn great fundraising ideas into real-world impact.
Last week, thousands of nonprofit professionals gathered at the Bridge Conference, with conversations centered around strategy, creativity, AI, donor engagement, and the next big fundraising breakthrough. And they should be.
But Roger Craver’s recent article in The Agitator, “The People Who Make It Happen,” reminds us of something equally important: behind every successful fundraising campaign are professionals whose names rarely appear on the agenda or accept awards from the stage.
They’re the people reviewing proofs one last time. Monitoring schedules. Double-checking data. Securing paper. Finding alternate suppliers. Optimizing postal logistics. Reading the fine print. Watching mail tracking reports. Catching small issues before they become expensive problems.
They are the people who quietly make the mission happen.
For nearly 40 years, Production Solutions has been built on that philosophy. George Lizama, Wayne Lizama, and Greg Albright, together with the unwavering support and care of Vickie Hector, built a company around a simple belief: exceptional fundraising depends on exceptional execution.
As Greg and Wayne soon begin their well-earned retirement, they leave far more than a successful company. Together with George, they helped build Production Solutions into one of the nonprofit sector’s most respected production management organizations while helping shape the fundraising community itself. Greg’s leadership extended well beyond our walls through his service to organizations including the Direct Mail Fundraising Association (DMFA), The Nonprofit Alliance, and his role in helping establish the Bridge Conference. Together, Greg, George, and Wayne built not only an exceptional business, but a culture centered on mentorship, trust, collaboration, and service. Their greatest legacy lives on in the people they inspired, the careers they helped shape, and the values that continue to guide our team every day.
We’re grateful to have a team that continues to build on that legacy. They are the unsung heroes who prevent problems before they become problems, sweat the details, and help our clients deliver on their missions.
What does an unsung hero look like?
Sometimes it looks like solving a crisis before anyone else realizes there is one.
During one nonprofit’s transition to a new production partner, our team successfully onboarded an emergency fundraising program in just seven days, allowing critical campaigns to continue without interruption while establishing a long-term production strategy. Read the full success story here.
Sometimes it’s not about solving a crisis. It’s about finding opportunities others overlook.
Our teams continually evaluate formats, suppliers, logistics, and USPS Promotions to uncover efficiencies that improve performance and reduce costs. We apply our nonprofit expertise into every situation, making every fundraising dollar work harder. Read the full success story here.
The work behind the work
These stories may not generate headlines. They don’t usually become award submissions or conference presentations. But they represent the work that happens every single day at Production Solutions.
To every member of the Production Solutions team, whose work often happens behind the scenes: thank you. The mission succeeds because you make it happen.
